- The Pro-Vicar Apostolic and the first Superior of the Mission of Mangalore is Father Nicolas Pagani of the Province of Naples, Italy
- The first batch of Jesuit missionaries to Mangalore is made up of Fathers Nicholas Pagani, Augustinus Muller, Otho Ehrle, Urban Stein, Quintinus Sani, Angelo Maffei, Angelo Mutti and Brothers Francis Zamboni, Matthew Meneghetti. In total 9.
- The first Jesuit to die from the first mission team of Mangalore is Fr Angelo Mutti.
- Fr Augustus Muller is the first among European Fathers to study and preach in Konkani in Mangalore.
- Fr Augustus Muller is the one who received the Kaiser-i-Hind Medal from the Governor of Madras in 1907.
