"History is a storehouse of human experience and as such an irreplaceable educator. For sure knowledge of the past lets us draw upon earlier human experience, facilitating our leap into the future with a sense of ease and confidence." Fr Lawrence L. Colaco, SJ (1920-1997)

Fr Lawrence L. Colaco, SJ

Died at St Joseph’s College, Bangalore after a bout of Alzheimer’s. With a Master’s in English literature, he had always been a lecturer, first at SAC, later for several years at St Joseph’s. Was an ardent apostle of the Catholic Students Union which took him to Chennai as a full timer, thence to Delhi from where he kept in touch with the youth. Endeared himself to all with whom he interacted. Bobby, as he was called from childhood, had a pleasant voice for singing, refined manners, deep piety. Has a younger brother, Terence, in the Society.
